Intro:

Many Christians live far below the level of victory, authority, and joy that God intended. They settle for a powerless Christianity — a faith that exists in name but lacks the demonstration of God’s power. This is not God’s plan. You are called to be more than a mere believer in words; you are called to walk in the very power of Christ. The difference between an ordinary Christian and a powerful Christian is like night and day. One struggles under the weight of defeat; the other stands as an overcomer, shining in a dark world.

Anchor Scripture: Acts 11:25-26

25: Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

This verse refers to Barnabas finding Saul (Paul) in Tarsus and bringing him to Antioch, where they ministered for an entire year — during which believers first received the name Christians.

Lets look at some of the miracles performed by Paul and Barnabas.

Acts 13:6–12 — Miracle in Cyprus (Elymas Struck Blind)

Paul, filled with the Holy Ghost, rebuked Elymas the sorcerer,"...thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. "Immediately, darkness fell on him. This miracle amazed the proconsul, leading to his belief.

Acts 14:8–10 — Healing of the Crippled Man in Lystra

Paul, seeing the man had faith to be healed,

"said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked."

Acts 14:3 — Signs and Wonders in Iconium (Paul & Barnabas)

"Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands."

These signs and wonders were miracles confirming the gospel message.

These and many more miracles were performed by the Antioch Christians and New Testament in general proving we re called to a life of power in Christ.

You are not called a Christian just for calling’s sake. God first, and the world expects you to perform miracles. The believers from Antioch were not called Christians only because they behaved like Christ, but also because they performed miracles just as Christ did. This is one truth most people are not talking about. Every believer is under mandate to command the supernatural and work miracles.

It is time for believers to stop looking solely to their pastors for spiritual help every time the devil strikes. That is not how God ordained it. Running to your pastor should be a last resort, not your first step. Your pastor is called into the same life of Christianity, and if they do not acquire power from God—just as you should—they too will be powerless like you are.

Jesus said in (Mark16:17–18), “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues… they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”. This promise is not for pastors alone, but for all who believe.

Before ascending to heaven, Jesus declared, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…” (Acts 1:8). That means every Christian is expected to walk in Holy Ghost power, confront the devil, and work miracles—just like the early believers in Antioch who were first called Christians, not always running to your pastors. Pastors are to guide you unto maturity, then after maturity you confront the devil by yourself and there is a time frame expected of this after your salvation.

You are not a true Christian, and you are not making God happy, when you live as a powerless Christian. You are failing to fulfill one of your core mandates. Christians are ordained to be powerful beings in both the physical and spiritual realms.

The question is: Do you like being powerlessness in Christ? As Christians, we are ordained to command demons to bow—and they will bow. They tremble and flee at our sight. They beg for their lives when they see us. But can you truly command this kind of power as a Christian? If your answer is no, then you are disappointing God, and He is not pleased with you. That is why He has sent me to charge you with this message.

Why God Isn't Happy With Powerless Christians?

Consider this scenario: Imagine a prince in a powerful kingdom. He has the authority of his father, the king, and the full backing of the royal army. One day, a servant in the palace starts insulting him, blocking his way, and even taking his possessions. Instead of exercising his authority, the prince runs to the king crying, “Father, look what the servant is doing to me!”

The king would be deeply disappointed. “My son,” he would say, “you carry my authority. At your word, the guards will act. The servant knows you are my heir, yet you act like you are powerless. I gave you authority not to cry in the face of opposition, but to command it to stop.”

This is exactly how any powerless Christian is before God and how He reacts towards us when ever we cry to Him so helpless and powerless when we suffer satanic attacks. He expects us to use the full arsenal of weapons and authority He has given to us as His children to deal with the devil.

Luke 10:19: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Beloved, you are a son or daughter of the King of kings. The devil is that powerless servant. Stop running in fear. Stand in your authority in Christ, use the power of His name, and enforce your victory.

The night before I received this message from God, I had a powerful revelation. I saw myself casting out all manner of demons that were attacking me in the name of Jesus. They came in different forms, but I was casting them out boldly by the authority of Jesus’ name. It was such a spiritual power tussle moment.

When I woke up, I kept asking myself, “What could this mean?”

That very morning, the inspiration for this message I am preaching now came upon me. As I wrote, led by the Holy Ghost, I realized that the revelation was not just for me—it was a message from God through me to you, my audience, and to the whole world. It is a wake-up call for believers everywhere.

God is calling us to a life of spiritual revival—a life where our spirit man is so charged and intimately connected to the Holy Spirit, our source of power, that we can dismantle the devices of the kingdom of darkness. As the Bible says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal…” (2 Corinthians 10:4).

As the day of Christ’s return draws nearer, the battle between good and evil grows fiercer. Scripture warns us, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times shall come” (2 Timothy 3:1). The devil is on the attack like never before, deploying all his arsenal against the world, especially the saints, trying to stop them from making it to heaven. As a Christian, will you just watch and do nothing, or will you defend your faith until the day of the Lord’s coming? Scripture commands us to “contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3).

Every believer has the responsibility to defend their salvation until He returns—this is not God’s burden alone. The prayer, “Oh Lord, don’t let me go to hell,” is not enough. Get on your knees, fight in faith-filled prayer. Jesus said, “Watch and pray, lest ye enter into temptation” (Matthew 26:41).

Which kind of Christian would you rather remain?

Do you want to be the Christian that demons see and flee? The one whose presence they sense and avoid? Or the Christian before whom they beg for their lives—like the man possessed by many demons in Gadara? People say that was because it was Jesus, but Jesus Himself said, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do” (John 14:12).

It is very possible. We have had many mighty prophets of old who operated in this kind of spiritual power—men like Elijah, Elisha, Moses, Isaiah, and Jeremiah. In the New Testament, powerful men and women of God like Peter, Paul, Philip, and John also walked in such authority, casting out demons, healing the sick, and performing miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Do you prefer to be that believer whom demons and satanic agents can slap and molest at will? Will you settle for being a punching bag in the hands of the devil? Or be a mere test subject that Satan and his agents use to try out their new schemes?

If your answer is no, then rise up now and take the bull by the horn. This message is not from me—it is from God, as I shared earlier in my testimony. God is charging us to arise and be empowered.

This is the time for revival—a time to put on your garment of war, grab the instruments of war which are His Word, His name, fellowship with Him, and righteousness, and go to the battlefield to defeat the enemy of your salvation—the devil.

Power is not as difficult to acquire from God as many think, especially when compared to how people acquire power from the kingdom of darkness. Just follow some simple principles in God’s kingdom, and you’re good to go.

I feel sorry for those who run to the devil to acquire power. If you think it’s costly to get power from God, just try the devil’s way—and you’ll see that God’s power is far cheaper. It is ignorance that makes people believe anything related to God is hard, and that getting power from the devil is easier. The devil keeps people trapped in this lie so he can prey on them.

People think the devil’s power is easier because it’s quick. Someone practices one or two occultic rituals, and within a month or two, he is already a millionaire. But that quick success is full of thorns and traps that can destroy a person so quickly—only God’s mercy can save them; Romans 9:15 (KJV): For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion

God’s power may take longer to develop because it comes step by step. But once you have it, it lasts for eternity—as long as you keep the same principles that brought it (see Deuteronomy 28:1: “If you obey and listen carefully to all these commands I am giving you today…”).

Why God's Power is Easier to acquire than the devil's?

1..People seeking satanic power often endure horrifying demands—sleeping in burial grounds for nights, committing abominable acts like making love with corpses or mentally ill persons, offering human sacrifices of their loved ones, or using human body parts for rituals. But to receive power from God, you only need a heart that is right with Him (righteousness), a deep knowledge of His Word through Bible study, and a consistent, intimate prayer altar. These may not be “cheap” in terms of commitment, but they are far easier and far more fulfilling than the requirements of the devil.

No one will arrest you for reading the Bible, praying, or living righteously—except in a few nations where Christianity is still struggling to penetrate, and most Christians don’t even live there. But if you are caught committing abominable acts to acquire satanic power—you will face public shame, and legal consequences.

2...When you acquire power from the devil, you lose your peace. Every year, you must renew your sacrifice or risk running mad, death, or losing all you were given—only to face God's judgment in the end. Sleepless nights filled with nightmares and torment from demonic agents become your reality. You may even be forbidden from helping your own family with the wealth and power the devil gave you.

But in Christ, you sleep peacefully like a child when your prayer altar is alive—burning bright like a live wire. No demon can come near you or your loved ones, let alone torment you. You don’t need an annual ritual to renew your power; your constant fellowship with God and obedience to Him is your renewal. And there is no fear of being caught or guilt weighing on your heart.

3...The devil is a wicked master, always seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). But God is a loving Master whose will for us is always good (Jeremiah 29:11). So, which is truly better to serve?

The day you acquire God’s power is the day you acquire more peace. But the day you go after the devil’s power is the day you invite more troubles into your life.

Stop being an ordinary Christian—start being a powerful one. The life of a Spirit-filled believer is exciting, even though challenges may still come. But how much worse are the challenges—and the emptiness—of living a powerless Christian life?

Brethren, the price for acquiring God’s power is not cheap, but it is far cheaper than the price of obtaining the devil’s power. And yet, God’s power surpasses Satan’s in every way, with eternal rewards instead of eternal regrets.

As a wise person, which will you choose?
