Couples seeking divine revelation for marriage

One of the greatest desires of every believer is to walk in divine revelation—knowing the deep and secret things of God and His Kingdom. But the question is: How do we secure such revelations from God?

The answer is simple yet profound: through our love for Him.

Let us explore some biblical proofs that love is the way to securing revelations from God.

1. Love Proven by Obedience

How do you truly love God? By accepting His will (commands) and doing them. Notice the order—acceptance comes before obedience.

You can’t obey what you haven’t first accepted. If you obey any laws out of compulsion or fear, that is not genuine obedience but forced compliance. God does not delight in forceful obedience, but in delightsome obedience.

👉 Scripture Reference:

  • “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”John 14:15 (KJV)

The surest proof of your love for God is obedience to His word. Disobedience, on the other hand, is a proof that one does not love Him. That is why God is not committed to revealing His secrets to those who neither belong to His fold nor love Him.

👉 Scripture Reference:

  • “Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”John 14:21 (NIV)

Here, Jesus makes the connection clear: love produces obedience, and obedience unlocks revelation.

As Bishop David Oyedepo often says:

“If you can’t obey God’s instruction at hand for you now, He is not committed to give you further instructions for the next step. His revelations are only for those who love Him.”

2. Delightsome Obedience, Not Forceful

There is a difference between obeying God willingly and obeying Him grudgingly. When you do something for God with complaints or reluctance, you rob yourself of the blessing attached to that act.

Just as earthly parents are not pleased when their children run errands with a bad attitude, God is not delighted in grudge-filled obedience.

👉 Scripture Reference:

  • “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”Isaiah 1:19 (KJV)

Willing obedience is what opens the door to deeper revelations.

3. God’s Secrets Belong to His Lovers

Revelations are not scattered carelessly. They are treasures hidden for those who walk in love and reverence for God.

👉 Scripture Reference:

  • “The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.”Psalm 25:14 (NKJV)

Only God-lovers qualify for His divine secrets.

4. Revelation Comes to Lovers

Paul makes it clear that God has prepared unimaginable things for those who love Him, and it is to such people that the Holy Spirit reveals divine mysteries.

👉 Scripture Reference:

  • “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.”1 Corinthians 2:9–10 (NKJV)

Revelations flow naturally to those who love God deeply.

5. Progressive Instructions Depend on Current Obedience

God is not committed to giving you the next instruction until you have obeyed the one He already gave. If you ignore the first, the next won’t come.

👉 Scripture Reference:

  • “To him who has, more will be given; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.”Mark 4:25 (NKJV)

Revelation flows in progressive obedience.

6. Love Is the True Channel of Revelation

Revelation flows through the channel of love expressed in delightsome obedience. If you love Him enough to obey the little He has said, He will love you enough to show you greater things.

👉 Scripture Reference:

  • “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”John 14:23 (NIV)

If you lack revelations from God, check your love level. How much of His word are you truly yielding to? Your level of obedience determines your level of access to divine revelation.

7. Fasting Without Love Is Empty

Many people go on long days of fasting, yet still hear nothing from God. Why? Because fasting without love is hunger strike.

Without love in your heart, fasting becomes empty. At best, you might catch a little insight by mercy. But someone else, who genuinely loves God, can spend just 5 minutes in fellowship and receive torrents of revelation.

Love, not mere spiritual exercises, is the key.

The key to securing revelations from God is not in endless activities but in love expressed through delightsome obedience. If you obey the little, He will entrust you with greater. If you love Him deeply, He will show you His secrets.

So, evaluate your love for God today—not by emotions but by how much you yield to His commandments. That love level is what determines your access level to His revelations.
